In these workshops we will use drama, movement, and storytelling to explore and further understand our bodies and minds. This will be a gentle, creative space where you’re encouraged to know yourself better, grow in confidence, and build community with other trans+ people. Most importantly, these workshops will offer a space for fun and play!

Who is this for? Accessibility is at the heart of this project and all trans, non-binary, intersex and gender-questioning adults are welcome. In the sign-up form you’ll have the chance to let us know how we can make the sessions work best for you. No previous experience of drama, movement, storytelling or performance is needed, and all activities are optional and adaptable.

When is this? Fridays, 5:30-8:00pm, from 7th February-25th April, followed by a performance on the evening of Saturday 26th April at The Actors Theatre (which will also be live-streamed). There will be a post-performance reunion and evaluation session on Friday 2nd May, from 5:30-8pm.

Where is this? The workshops will take place at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church, Dorset Gardens, Brighton, BN2 1RL (ground floor Small Hall). The space is wheelchair accessible, has all-gender accessible toilets, and dimmable lighting. Please note The Actors Theatre is accessed by one flight of stairs and there is no lift.

Who’s the leader? The sessions will be led by Noah Abdel Razek (he/they), an experienced drama facilitator. You can view a video of Noah talking about this project here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nPkr-EVhYQxs9XUf1eVzpomjNYfeoC7u/view?usp=sharing. A member of The Clare Project team will also be present.
